Brittany joined Kiwanis in 2019.

Brittany was a member of Key Club from 2012-2015.

Brittany joined Kiwanis because she loved her experience as a Key Club member at MASH and wanted to continue serving her community.

Brittany’s favorite Kiwanis project is attending community events and having fun activities for the attendees.

Jackie joined Kiwanis because he wanted to be apart of the service that Kiwanis does.

Jackie’s favorite club activity is everything! There isn’t a service project or fundraising endeavor that Jackie doesn’t enjoy.

Sharlene Keenan

Sharlene joined Kiwanis in 2000.

Sharlene joined Kiwanis because she was newer to town at the time and wanted to meet people for personal and professional purposes. A friend invited her to check out Kiwanis and 20+ years later she is still involved!

Sharlene’s favorite club activity is the Christmas events for the Crawford County Care Center because it brings the key clubs and senior citizens together.

Roger Janes

Roger joined Kiwanis in 1979.

Roger joined Kiwanis because he knew people ho were working together to make Meadville a better place.

Roger’s favorite club activity is the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast which brings the club and our Key Club members together to support our mission.

Hannah Fuller

Hannah joined Kiwanis in 2019.

Hannah joined Kiwanis because she wanted to be part of a service organization. As she was growing up, her parents instilled the value of giving our time and talents. She is excited to be part of an organization that strives to give back to our community.

Hannah’s favorite club activity is Pancake Day! Pancakes are something that she always shared with her sister and dad and now she shares with her kids as part of a food fundraiser.

Dick Deiss

Dick joined Kiwanis in 1969.

Dick joined Kiwanis because someone invited him and he stayed because the group was fun!

Dick’s favorite club activity was the Dam-Tri. Putting on the youth triathlon required a lot of club members and kayaking was the best part.

Dan Severo

Dan joined Kiwanis in 1994.

Dan joined Kiwanis as a way to give back to the community who has given him so much.

Dan’s favorite club activity was the Youth Tri Dam event.

Glenn Thompson

Glenn joined Kiwanis in 2012.

Glenn joined Kiwanis because his friend Roger invited him to join as he was looking for a service club after his son left for college.

Glenn’s favorite club activity is Pancake Day.

Michelle Lippert

Michelle joined Kiwanis in 2019.

Michelle joined Kiwanis because a colleague of hers would share stories of the fun experiences he had in the organization. Truth be told, Michelle joined to put the experience on her resume, get out of her comfort zone, and network. The longer she participated, the more she really enjoyed volunteering to help others and the community through service projects. Michelle cherishes being able to see the impact and joy the Kiwanis Club brings others.

Michelle’s favorite club activity is the highway cleanup and distributing food to those in need.

The Service Committee develops, plans, and implements meaningful service projects year round. Our current lineup of Service Projects include:

  • Breakfast Book Club at Forest Green
  • Christmas Gifts for Kids at Forest Green
  • Youth programming at FCCA – Winter Fest and Fall Fest
  • Care Center Christmas
  • Teacher Appreciation Day
  • Agriculture Appreciation Day
  • Highway Cleanup
  • Bike Safety Day

Fundraising

The Fundraising Committee works to raise funds to support our Service Projects and sponsorships of community and youth programming. This committee currently hosts the following fundraisers:

  • Art & Jean Cocolin Pancake Day
  • Tour deTamarack

Service Leadership Program

Chair: Sharlene Keenan

The Service Leadership Program committee works with Key Club advisors and students at surrounding high schools. We are the Kiwanis Sponsoring Club for the Key Club at MASH and support the students in Key Club at MASH, Maplewood, and Saegertown High School throughout the year.
